Here is, yet, another animated icon I created for my wife’s VA (or Virtual Assistant) endeavor, to be used on her homepage for her business’ website. Again, like with the others I’ve posted about, I tried to challenge myself with varying principles of animation, and how Photoshop makes .gifs, in general. for this business pen, I was either going to have it stand straight up, acting like it was writing below itself, or simply have it go in a couple of circles, mimicking momentum and velocity. I would have loved to do the former, and I might be doing that regardless, down the line, if certain icons don’t really match the pages they take the viewer to. So, instead, I chose the latter, and decided to fool around with the illusion of physics affecting this 2D object.
There really isn’t much more to say about this one, in particular, considering two of the other animated icons also use rotation as their main means of animation. However, like I said previously, I wanted to see if I could truly capture the feel of weight and speed of an object, and for a first try, I don’t feel it’s half bad!
Everything is very open with a precise explanation of the issues.

First of all I want to say great blog! I had a quick question in which I’d
like to ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to find out
how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing.
I’ve had a hard time clearing my thoughts in getting
my thoughts out. I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes
are lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips?
Kudos!
I’ll be honest, it takes a lot of creative energy for me to write something, especially something well, and I get very tired after the fact; it’s by no means “easy,” and you are not the only one with hurdles to climb over in this field. Anyway, typically I just collect myself for a few days (or hours, depending on the situation, lol) and all-the-while continuously think on what I will write in my mind’s eye, almost writing it out in my head as I go along (like writing a rough draft, ready for the interwebs on the day/hour it need to be ready).
Very beautiful and well written article
