2nd Hurdles Meeting for LoS

For a 6 week local Game Jam (which was my first Game Jam I have ever attended) called Hurdles – for a local game dev group called RunJumpDev – I was to pick back up on a personal project I had been working on for quite a while (in this case “Legends of Saviors”) and expand on what I had been doing from before.

This was technically the third week of talking to the group, and (like the rest of these videos), I was to present something physical, deliver a nice pitch, talk about any problems that may have occurred, discuss what goals I had achieved (or didn’t achieve), and go into what goals I had in mind for the next week ahead.  I feel like I kept up a good pace, all throughout, and was excited (as you can see) to present my ideas with an open audience!

The Algorithmia, Part 1

It has always been planned that I were to create a game(s), it would be filled with believable, dense, and fanatical lore that would try to tie-in each theme into one other.  With this in mind, I have been working on said lore, people, cultures, planets, history, etc. for many years, trying to figure out something compelling and receivable.  I hope to bring old traditions of certain cultures to modern people through various themes, and to engender an experience that transcends the gaming system it is played on.

In this PowerPoint presentation, I wanted to try to convey a “pre-origin” story for the entirety of the ST’RCK-5 multi-macroverse in a very uniform, simplistic, yet term and symbol-filled way, that could answer certain questions that interested people might have, and also arise new ones, to summon up a sense of wonder, within the viewer.

1st Hurdles Meeting for LoS

For a 6 week local Game Jam (which was my first Game Jam I have ever attended) called Hurdles – for a local game dev group called RunJumpDev – I was to pick back up on a personal project I had been working on for quite a while (in this case “Legends of Saviors”) and expand on what I had been doing from before.

This was the first week that was for introducing myself, what game-related project I was working on, any game play, videos, etc. to show (if I had something to show, in which I did video montages of concept Art I had done previously), and what goals I hoped to accomplish for the next 7 days, leading up to the next week’s meeting.

Wajoby (aka Jakob Sughes) Concept

The 5th, and final, playable character of an ensemble cast

Within the Fighting title and first RPG game of the “Legends of Saviors,” players can also take on the role of Wajoby, the Earth Buntaien of Order, within the Saro Perspective.

Wajoby of Par’n of the Saro Perspective was once known as a Star Vicar, turned Star Seeker, known as Jakob Sughes, who was the only known returner and survivor of the mission to help the Buntaiens of the Reksta Perspective create balance.  After he made it back alive, he came bearing rare information as to what he experienced in Reksta, and – with the help of RuMa of Par’N – was able to change cosmic rules within the rest of the Perspectives; most specially on how Buntaiens would be summoned from that point, onward.  For his service and help, he was adorned and transformed into the first Buntaien of Saro, but not to act not as a “cosmic angel” to balance out the universe, but more as a watcher and guardian of the OVERALL balance of all planets, instead of each, individual one.   As the oldest and wisest Buntaien of Saro, he has seen the advent and somewhat inevitable decline of many civilizations over many centuries, but has not been able to do much about it, considering his role had been diminished to a type of sentinel.  Eventually, after many personal confrontations with a being just as powerful as he, he was confronted by this same entity on his home planet of Par’N, and at almost the cost of the entire planet, he was able to find a way to defeat this fiend, but was launched off into space, as a consequence, and crashed into the Under Ocean of Hatz.  The player will eventually find their way on that same planet – in an attempt, no less, to find the 5th, and final Buntaien – and will have to figure out what is causing the troubles of the planet, and find the original Buntaien of the Saro Perspective.

Planet Signa (aka Tara) Legend

The different landmarks of the planet Signa

Within the first RPG title of the “Legends of Saviors,” the player will continue their cosmic adventure onto the 5th playable planet, known as Signa (originally known as Tara), within the Saro Perspective.

The Tarakins once were rooted into the ground (during their pre-evolved state), literally, and would join with other Tarakins to create Gatherings, in which they would be able to move through the soil faster and farther; they would criss-cross along the surface, going from one forest to another.  Eventually, once they evolved, most Tarakins used their energy-controlling abilities to stretch, morph, tease, and experiment on the various elements of their environment.  Once the Normg Virus affects the planet, one Tarakin, in particular – Kendell – begins to almost immediately create various types of technology, some of which would be mechanical appendages, cloning the flora and fauna of the planet, and eventually cloning his people and building a gigantic city for all of them to prosper in.  An eventual theory called the “Total Preservation Movement,” devised by Kendell and others, would create a type of “mechaforming” technology that would “preserve” their planet, but in a more immortal sense; to never decay or break-down.  Sadly, over time, after Kendell became Insignacious and the planet and its people changed their identity and most of their environment even further, Signa became a very desolate and stagnate planet, where ideas, inventions, and even its people would become scarce commodities.  The reasons behind Signa’s almost rapid decline in overall activity isn’t understood at this moment, and even the RuMas of other planets can’t seem to tap into the energies of the planet.
